The event is scheduled for eleven o’clock in the morning, the provincial governor, Alcibiades Tavarez.
The work, built by Public Works, has a cost of over six hundred million dollars.
This new structure will streamline the transit road from San Pedro de Macoris tourism pole toward La Romana, Bávaro and Punta Cana.
The Bridge is named after Dr. Guido Gil Diaz, journalist and lawyer who was political leader of the group June the 14th.

BREAKING NEWS: Las Romana.-President Leonel Fernández inaugurated on Thursday a new bridge over Soco River, Guido Gil
and a stretch of road that joins the Eastern Motorway.
This is the bridge number six that delivers the agent in this region, where some five thousand have invested 500 million pesos.
The head of state by the Public Works Minister Victor Diaz Rua and the governor of this province, Alcibiades Tavarez, cut the symbolic ribbon to inaugurate the major roadworks and later unveiled a plaque.
The event’s keynote speech was given by the engineer Victor Diaz Rua, whose ministry built the important works that contribute to the development of the East, noting that the bridge has a length of 294.90 meters.
She said it was built with the most modern methods of engineering with over a thousand steel piles 200 feet each, driven into SocoRiver.
He explained that the structure replaced the old bridge over SocoRiver, which is more than 80 years old. He said that this work, roadside Coral Resort and Boulevard East are the last links to round out the Eastern Motorway, conceived by the government headed by President Fernandez. He noted that the structure will link the capital with the main tourist resorts in the East.
Minister of Public Works explained that the name of the bridge Guido Gil, chosen by the president, is a tribute to that Mocano native prominent lawyer and journalist who sacrificed himself for the best interests of its people.
He was missing on January the 17th, 1967 and it is believed that was intersected in the old bridge over SocoRiver, arrested and later killed.
