BREAKING NEWS : La Romana.- The golf tournament Clásico Semana Santa
, organized by the Club Cajuiles of La Romana, will take place on April 10th and April 11th 2009, in the Links of Casa de Campo.
The event will welcome golf players from La Romana, Santo Domingo, Santiago an Higuey.
The activity, that will be dedicated to the golf player Lorenzo Hunt, will start the Thursday 9th with the confirmation of the registered players, who will participate to a cocktail in the Club Caza y Pesca
terrace of this city, starting at 07.00pm.
The information was given by Luis Alcántara Secretary of the Club, who describes this tournament as a tradition that kindle the enthusiasm of many golf players of the country.
The prize giving ceremony will be celebrated on Saturday night, during a dinner gala in the Club Caza y Pesca.

Andrea Bocelli in concert at Altos de Chavón

BREAKING NEWS : La Romana.- The Office of the First Lady
(DPD) and Dominican contractors who collaborate traditionally with this institution, met in order to enjoy the presentation of the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, during a concert that was qualified as unique
in the country. This one will take place on April 30th in the amphitheater of Altos de Chavón in La Romana.
The money obtained by the sale of the 400 tickets reserved by the Office of the First Lady, will be used to keep developing projects carried out by the institution in benefit of the families who have no house to live in.
Vivienda Digna
is part of the program Progresando
, and its goal is to build comfortable houses for Dominican families. Each one of these accommodations has more than a bedroom, a cement ground, a sanitary system, electricity and an access to drinking water.
The project is developed by the Office of the First Lady and several institutions.
With this project, we wish to develop a social intervention model that aims to offer valid replies in order to ensure dignified accommodations to the families that live in a situation of extreme poverty
, said the First Lady of Dominican Republic, Margarita Cedeño de Fernández.
This is why the Office of the First Lady
signed an agreement with the enterprise Marketing Management Group
, directed by Saymon Díaz, through which tickets were reserved in privileged seats. These will be offered to enterprises that collaborate with this institution.

Public works invest 4 billion in the East region
Development of the public highways
BREAKING NEWS: In order to promote the economic development of the East area of the country, the government invests, trough the Secretariat of Public Works, more than four billion pesos in the construction and rebuilding of various infrastructures relating to the public highway in this zone.
The investment is concentrated on the construction of bridges and roads, as well as on an asphalting plan of the districts and the connection ways with other localities.
Details of the investments in work in La Romana
In this province, the Public Works work on the rebuilding of the streets of the Villa Hermosa district , those of the commune of Guaymate and in the repair of the road La Romana-Higüey.
Moreover, one repairs the damage on the road La Romana-El Cruce de Yuma and Guaymate- Cruce de Pavón, among other critical points.
